TRINIDAD COMMUNITY CHORAL
The Trinidad Community Chorale had its beginnings in the 1980s and has evolved over the years under the leadership of various directors. We are a volunteer organization of women and men who love music and want to share that love of music with the community. The majority of our membership and leadership are women from the area surrounding and including Trinidad.
We perform concerts twice a year that are free to the public. One concert is held in the spring/early summer and the other is held just before Christmas. In addition, this last year we made several appearances around the community to share the spirit of Christmas through carols. This included the community tree-lighting ceremony, Mt. Carmel Hospice Services and several nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Since we exist solely based on the generosity of the community, we struggle from season to season to meet our financial obligation which leaves very little extra to purchase new music. Each piece we perform costs approximately $100 to provide copies for each member, the director and all accompanists. Every piece of music then becomes part of our music library that we tap into for each new season. Each season we try to add at least 3 new pieces of music to keep our performances fresh, but this limits our capacity to put together unique performances.
We strive to present ourselves in a professional manner wearing matching attire that is purchased totally at the expense of each individual member of our very dedicated group.
There are so few opportunities for the members of our community to express themselves through music and so few opportunities for the community to share in the joy music provides. Thank you so very much for selecting the Trinidad Community Chorale as one of your beneficiaries for 2014. Your
gracious support of our group is very much appreciated.
